--- title: "Septic Inspectors & Radon Pros in Steele County, MN: 7 Licensed | MN Home Sale Pros" description: "4 MPCA-licensed SSTS inspectors and 3 MDH-licensed radon pros based in Steele County, Minnesota, for home sales." canonical: https://mnhomesalepros.com/county/steele/ --- [Home](https://mnhomesalepros.com/) › [Counties](https://mnhomesalepros.com/counties/) › Steele County # Septic inspectors and radon pros in Steele County, MN 4 MPCA-licensed SSTS inspector businesses and 3 MDH-licensed radon businesses list an address in Steele County. Many work across counties, and most radon pros list a statewide service area. Minnesota has no single statewide septic-at-sale rule, but many counties and cities require an SSTS compliance inspection at property transfer by local ordinance ([MPCA local SSTS programs](https://www.pca.state.mn.us/business-with-us/local-septic-system-programs)). Ask the county or city SSTS office whether a transfer inspection applies. Inspections must be done by an MPCA-licensed SSTS inspector business. ## SSTS (septic) inspectors (4) ✔ MPCA SSTS licensed Inspector ### Bishop Excavating Inc 8043 158th St SE, Blooming Prairie, MN 55917 ☎ [(507) 583-2999](tel:5075832999) ✉ ben@bishopexcavating.com Certified staff: Benjamin G Bishop, Jason C Peck Also licensed: Designer, Installer, Pipelayer License L1844, expires 2027-04-27 · bonded, insured Source: [MPCA SSTS](https://services.pca.state.mn.us/api/doc/v1/ssts/licensed-businesses), retrieved 2026-10-12 · [Claim/correct/remove](https://mnhomesalepros.com/list-your-business/?id=SL1844) ✔ MPCA SSTS licensed Inspector ### R & M Backhoe Service 2300 NW 50th St, Medford, MN 55049 ☎ [(507) 451-6164](tel:5074516164) Certified staff: Roger R Holzemer Also licensed: Designer, Installer, Pipelayer License L181, expires 2027-04-21 · bonded, insured Source: [MPCA SSTS](https://services.pca.state.mn.us/api/doc/v1/ssts/licensed-businesses), retrieved 2026-10-12 · [Claim/correct/remove](https://mnhomesalepros.com/list-your-business/?id=SL181) ✔ MPCA SSTS licensed Inspector ### Don Loken Drainage Inc 3695 Hoffman Dr NW, Owatonna, MN 55060 ☎ [(507) 451-2873](tel:5074512873) ✉ lokenexcavation74@gmail.com Certified staff: Dallas D Loken, Donald O Loken, Scott S McGinley Also licensed: Designer, Installer, Pipelayer License L450, expires 2029-03-16 · bonded, insured Source: [MPCA SSTS](https://services.pca.state.mn.us/api/doc/v1/ssts/licensed-businesses), retrieved 2026-10-12 · [Claim/correct/remove](https://mnhomesalepros.com/list-your-business/?id=SL450) ✔ MPCA SSTS licensed Inspector ### Steve James Excavating, Inc. 3835 Park Dr, Owatonna, MN 55060 ☎ [(507) 451-3080](tel:5074513080) Certified staff: Brady L James, Cole D James, Greg R Lamont, Steve D James Also licensed: Designer, Installer, Maintainer, Pipelayer License L4317, expires 2028-06-16 · bonded, insured Source: [MPCA SSTS](https://services.pca.state.mn.us/api/doc/v1/ssts/licensed-businesses), retrieved 2026-10-12 · [Claim/correct/remove](https://mnhomesalepros.com/list-your-business/?id=SL4317) ## Radon testing and mitigation (3) ✔ MDH radon license Measurement ### Deming Home Inspections 217 13th St NE, Owatonna, MN 55060 ☎ [(507) 475-2383](tel:5074752383) 🌐 [deminghomeinspections.com](https://deminghomeinspections.com) 1 MDH-licensed professional * Sterling Deming (RMEA-00182) Service area (per MDH): 50 miles Source: [MDH Radon Service Providers](https://radon.web.health.state.mn.us/serviceProviders.jsf), retrieved 2026-10-12 · [Claim/correct/remove](https://mnhomesalepros.com/list-your-business/?id=M062) ✔ MDH radon license Measurement ### Hunter's House LLC 202 N Cedar Ave Suite 1, Owatonna, MN 55060 ☎ [(262) 853-5802](tel:2628535802) 🌐 [huntershouse.co](https://huntershouse.co) 1 MDH-licensed professional * Hunter Babcock (RMEA-00615) Service area (per MDH): 100 miles Source: [MDH Radon Service Providers](https://radon.web.health.state.mn.us/serviceProviders.jsf), retrieved 2026-10-12 · [Claim/correct/remove](https://mnhomesalepros.com/list-your-business/?id=M115) ✔ MDH radon license MeasurementMitigation ### Kirchner Siding and Window 1430 E Main, Owatonna, MN 55060 ☎ [(507) 451-3377](tel:5074513377) 🌐 [kirchnersidingandwindow.com](https://kirchnersidingandwindow.com) 2 MDH-licensed professionals * Dean Kirchner (RMITS-00011) * Nolan Ahrens (RMEA-00214) Service area (per MDH): 50 miles Source: [MDH Radon Service Providers](https://radon.web.health.state.mn.us/serviceProviders.jsf), retrieved 2026-10-12 · [Claim/correct/remove](https://mnhomesalepros.com/list-your-business/?id=M139) Data last verified 2026-10-12 against MPCA's SSTS licensed-business data and MDH's radon service provider list. ## Neighboring counties [Dodge County](https://mnhomesalepros.com/county/dodge/) · [Freeborn County](https://mnhomesalepros.com/county/freeborn/) · [Mower County](https://mnhomesalepros.com/county/mower/) · [Rice County](https://mnhomesalepros.com/county/rice/) · [Waseca County](https://mnhomesalepros.com/county/waseca/) ## Guides [Septic (SSTS) at sale](https://mnhomesalepros.com/septic-inspectors/) · [Radon at sale](https://mnhomesalepros.com/radon/) · [Truth-in-Sale of Housing](https://mnhomesalepros.com/truth-in-sale-of-housing/)
